There has been a recent update from the debt advice sector – Christians Against Poverty (CAP) and Community Money Advice (CMA), have announced they are joining together to provide support for more people across the UK.

By uniting and consolidating their services, the two charities aim to create a comprehensive support system to help those struggling in poverty across the UK, providing continued services to those experiencing debt and poverty at a time when it is urgently needed. Whilst maintaining both the CAP and CMA identities, they’ll be poised to offer free, compassionate debt advice through an expansive network of 380 dedicated centres hosted in churches and community centres across the UK.

Stronger together against debt and poverty

Important information

You should never have to pay for debt advice. Free, confidential support is available to help you understand your options and take control of your finances.

If you’re looking for guidance, you can access trusted, free debt advice through our dedicated support page.

What does this mean for you?

For anyone currently receiving support from CAP, or thinking about reaching out, there is no immediate change to how you access help. You should continue to do so in the same way, receiving the same free, confidential and compassionate support from the team.

The partnership between CAP and CMA is focussed on improving services behind the scenes, helping both organisations reach more people and provide a stronger support system for people around the UK.

We understand dealing with debt can be overwhelming, but you are not alone. Speaking to a trusted debt advisor can be the first step to a debt-free future.
